Lawyers are professionally trained in law and undergo years of training in Universities before they're able to work as a Lawyer. Any good and competent Lawyer can charge between $400-$1,000 per hour before it increases with Senior Counsel or Kings Counsel. Their charges are based on their level of skills and experience, which you're paying for. Sometimes, they may only speak for 5-10 minutes on your behalf but charge you for $3,000 for their time. What you don't see, is the time of their preparation because a general rule of thumb, the longer the preparation, the shorter the presentation.

COVID has permanently changed the legal landscape as we know it. Virtual representations are now accepted by the courts, which it never did prior to COVID lockdowns and is becoming more and more accessible today. I've done virtual hearings via Teams before the Tasmanian Magistrate's Court, Supreme Courts of Tasmania and Administrative Appeals Tribunal across Australia. It hasn't disadvantaged my clients at all, as both hearings before the Tasmanian Magistrate's Court were both successful. This mode is now the new norm and those like us, who can adjust to the changing environment, have an advantage than our colleagues who are still stuck to the past.

Mediation is voluntary and no party can be compelled to attend, unless ordered by the court.

Some clients come to me when seeking advice on applying for a new visa or shortly after receiving a negative outcome of their visa application. My assistance will be at the collating and lodgment of their visa process or collating and lodgment of their Tribunal Review Hearing. Our service continues throughout until a decision is made regarding your visa application or Tribunal Hearing.

You have the right to represent yourself before any Department, Court or Tribunal in Australia.. However, if you're seeking professional help and don't feel confident, then you'll need us.
